Sephardi/Mizrachi Education and Awareness in Focus (June Plenum)

The plenum will focus on Sephardi / Mizrachi education, awareness and memory in the community. The evening will commemorate the Farhud with a brief outline, testimony and candle lighting with survivors followed by a moderated panel focusing on the place of Sephardi / Mizrachi Jewry in the Sydney community and the importance of education, awareness and memory. The panellists include Egyptian-Jewish academic Dr Racheline Barda OAM, Sephardi Mizrachi Voices co-founder Miriam Ziegler and Jewish Studies Teacher Michael Sassoon. The event will conclude with the launch of the online Sephardi / Mizrachi Educational Resource Pack and an outline of our achievements as a community so far.
