Over 1,000 people came together in a deeply moving Yom Hashoah commemoration, marking 80 years since the liberation.
Our survivors bravely told their stories of liberation before lighting memorial candles in honour of those who never returned, and Dr Helen Lewis gave a heartfelt keynote address, sharing her father’s legacy as one of the first to capture the horrors of Bergen-Belsen.
The ceremony was accompanied by stirring musical performances by Ben Adler, Chazan Zvi Teichtahl, Paul Khodor and Sasha Fisher.
The hall was filled with remembrance and an enduring spirit of hope as generations stood together to honour the past and commit to never forgetting.
