Members of Parliament, councillors, diplomats, union officials, ethnic leaders, NSW Police and NGO representatives join with leaders of the Jewish community to celebrate Israel’s Independence Day (Yom Ha’atzmaut) at a cocktail reception in the city.
Taking place around May 14, the reception is the major public affairs event of the Jewish community, with the NSW Premier as the main speaker and the leader of the opposition in attendance.
The Ambassador of Israel to Australia also addresses the guests, and on occasion, we are privileged to host the presentation of a ‘Righteous Among the Nations’ award during the event.
