ELECTION OF SEVENTY ONE (71) DEPUTIES
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
The NSW Jewish Board of Deputies Limited (“the JBD”) will conduct an election by Associates of seventy one (71) Elected Deputies, whose two-year term of office will commence on 1 July 2024.
This election will be conducted in accordance with the Constitution and Election Rules of the JBD, both of which can be found on the Governance section of the JBD website (www.nswjbd.org.au) and will be conducted electronically using the services and platform of Vero Voting, an independent voting services provider (http://www.verovoting.com.au).
Eligible persons are invited to nominate as candidates for this election by submitting a duly completed and signed Nomination form by 5 pm (AEST) Wednesday 17 April 2024 (“Close of Nominations”). Late nominations cannot and will not be accepted.
Nomination forms and other material relevant to nomination can now be obtained from the Deputies Election section of the JBD website referred to above.
In order to be eligible, a nominee must have been a financial Associate (within the meaning of the JBD Constitution) as at both:
- 15 August 2023 (that being the date of the 2023 Annual General Meeting of the JBD); and
- 19 March 2024 (that being the date of this Call for Nominations).
(If a person’s membership lapsed between those dates and was renewed by 19 March 2024, the person will be eligible.)
Nomination forms must be in the form prescribed by the JBD Electoral Committee and must be fully completed and signed by the Nominee and also by a Proposer and a Seconder, who are financial Associates as at the date of the lodgement of the Nomination form.
In order that the nomination be valid, the Nominee must by the Close of Nominations pay a fee of $20 by direct bank transfer, cheque or via the JBD’s secure online payment gateway. To make payment and / or access the JBD’s banking details, please access the JBD’s dedicated election webpage at: www.nswjbd.org.au/2024-deputy-elections or email the JBD Team for the payment details.
Nomination forms must be submitted online via www.nswjbd.org.au/2024-deputy-elections, sent electronically to [email protected], hand-delivered or sent by prepaid post to NSW Jewish Board of Deputies 140-146 Darlinghurst Road, Darlinghurst, NSW 2010. Nominations must be received by the JBD by the Close of Nominations (specified above).
Nomination forms may be accompanied by a Candidate Statement of no more than 350 words (which complies with the Election Rules) using the template provided in the Deputies Election section of the JBD website and a passport-style photograph. Candidate Statements and photographs must be received by the Close of Nominations and will be made available to voters in the Election.
