Mark Coure MP visits Our Big Kitchen
Late last month Multiculturalism Minister Mark Coure visited Our Big Kitchen (OBK) and Yeshiva College in Bondi, and Emanuel Synagogue and Emanuel Woollahra Preschool in Woollahra.
He spoke to students about his work as an MP and praised the important work teachers in our state do every day.
“I have one of the best jobs in NSW Parliament, as I get to meet people from so many different cultures and communities every day, all of whom contribute so much to our state and our nation,” Coure said. “And I’m so pleased to be here today to meet you.”
Coure said it was a “wonderful opportunity to come and see firsthand the wonderful work that Rabbi Dovid Slavin and the team do here at OBK, and of course the local school students here [volunteering] today”.
“Giving back to the community is so important, and it’s groups like these that play such an important role, particularly over the last two years through the pandemic.
“Thank you for the opportunity to help a little bit, but more importantly, to see the great work you do.”
Following his visit to OBK Minister Coure met with representatives of Emanuel Synagogue and Emanuel Woollahra Preschool.
NSW Jewish Board of Deputies vice-president Nathalie Samia commented, “We were delighted to meet with Minister Coure at Our Big Kitchen during his visit.
“OBK welcomes people of all different faiths and backgrounds who come together to prepare meals for the needy, and they were incredibly grateful to have the Multicultural Minister roll up his sleeves and lend a helping hand on the day.”
NSW Jewish Board of Deputies CEO Darren Bark added, “The Jewish Board of Deputies has a warm and productive relationship with the minister and we look forward to continuing to work with him on various issues affecting the community.”
