The NSW Jewish Board of Deputies (JBD) is recognised by the NSW government, its agencies, NGOs, unions, the media and other ethnic, cultural and religious groups as the representative roof-body of the NSW Jewish community. It leads, speaks and advocates on behalf of the NSW Jewish community, with 55 major communal organisations as its constituents.
Reporting to the President and the Board of the JBD, the Chief Executive Officer will provide strong community and organisational leadership by implementing and executing the organisation’s strategy to ensure a united NSW Jewish Community. Specifically, the CEO is responsible for the strengthening of the JBD’s respected brand, forming and maintaining strong alliances, coalitions and partnerships and ensuring organisational effectiveness including, leading digital transformation. These responsibilities will be undertaken whilst upholding the JBD’s culture, values and behavioural principles.
Leading a small and dedicated team, the Sydney-based Chief Executive Officer will be the chief spokesperson and representative of the JBD with responsibility for all major negotiations, planning and activities.
Candidates will possess significant leadership experience within the corporate or not for profit sector, or experience in running a small but complex organisation. They will have outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills. A demonstrated track record in creating a collaborative and inclusive workplace and leading an organisation through transformation will be highly advantageous.
The CEO will be a strong and positive influencer who can build trust and motivate their team, and all stakeholders which is crucial in achieving the JBD’s goals.
