The elections for elected deputies are over, but the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies Annual General Meeting is around the corner and nominations are open for board, committee and NSW Jewish War Memorial representative positions.
Nominations close at 5pm on 4 August; nomination forms are available on the website.
Online voting will take place at the AGM, which will be held on Tuesday August 18 at 7.30pm. It will be conducted by Zoom – with Premier Gladys Berejiklian the guest speaker.

I wish to thank and commend the deputies who were not re-elected and the candidates who didn’t get over the line for their ongoing commitment to our community and their willingness to get involved. There are many individuals who have dedicated hundreds of hours to the cause of the Board of Deputies and therefore of the community itself. Their tireless efforts have been instrumental in making our community stronger. I thank them most sincerely, and it is my fervent hope that they will continue to remain involved in our important work.”
As announced at this week’s plenum, 71 Deputies were elected from 96 nominees. With the youngest cohort in history, almost a third of all the elected Deputies are aged 30 or under, their term running until June 30, 2022. The newly elected Deputies are joined by the 71 Deputies who represent constituent organisations.
The 2020 cohort of Deputies offer a wide range of skills, including digital media, marketing, HR, banking, teaching, legal, medical, accounting, communal roles, politics, activism and many others.
