Members of Jews of Shoalhaven (JOSH) a small but active body bringing together Jews living along the South Coast of NSW, were joined by Jewish families who drove from the Southern Highlands, Wollongong and Sydney to ensure a particularly well-attended ceremony.

There were no graves left at the previous Jewish burial grounds in Shoalhaven and the local council recently allocated a new area at Worrigee just outside Nowra.

Kevin Sekel expressed his thanks to the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies, represented by David Knoll, the Sydney Beth Din, represented by Rabbi Ulman, and Shoalhaven City Council, represented by Pamela Green, who worked closely to arrange the allocation of the new Jewish section and its consecration.

Rabbi Ulman also led Kaddish for the two members of the community who have been buried in the new section even prior to the consecration and whose family members were in attendance. (Zvi Benesh Agam and Diane Ruth Sewell).
