For about 25 years, the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies has been inviting senior media personnel to take part in the annual journalists study tour of Israel. Participants are drawn from newspapers, television, radio and online media.
The tour includes briefings with high-level Middle East analysts; tours to the holy sites in Jerusalem’s Old City, meetings with Palestinian Authority officials, visits to the Lebanese, Syrian and Gaza borders, and meetings with members of the Knesset and Israeli political parties.
The aim of the study mission is to demonstrate the complexity of the situation in the Middle East and provide journalists with background briefings to improve their knowledge of the issues.
