The NSW Jewish Board of Deputies (JBD) is recognised by the NSW government, its agencies, NGOs, unions, the media, and other ethnic, cultural, and religious groups as the representative peak-body of the NSW Jewish community. It leads, speaks, and advocates on behalf of the NSW Jewish community with 55 major communal organisations as its constituents. The JBD operates to ensure the Jewish community can live openly and safely as part of an inclusive, democratic society in NSW.

We are seeking a passionate and proactive Sephardi Mizrahi (SM) Community Liaison, who will form part of the JBD’s Community Engagement Team twice a week for a 6  month period with scope to extend if required. 

The role will focus on building a sense of belonging and inclusion through education, advocacy and representation, helping to ensure that SM perspective, culture and traditions are valued and visible within the wider Jewish and Australian story.

The preferred applicant will have strong interpersonal and communication skills and a strong personal or cultural affiliation to Sephardi and/or Mizrahi Jewish heritage. Experience in community outreach, education, engagement, or cultural programming is highly advantageous.
